Though only 27 years old, Agnes ‘Agi’ Chua Wang has grabbed life by the horns. This AIA Philippines Insurance Entrepreneur now takes full control of her life and career, achieves her life dreams, and lives her real passion while helping other people do the same.
An AIA Philippines insurance policyholder since her college days, Agi has made promoting greater financial literacy among Filipinos her advocacy. “Financial literacy is easy. People just need to understand it in a way that’s relevant to them. I realized it would be perfect to make a career out of my advocacy, and hope to make other people fulfill their own dreams while making sure they are protected and ready for life’s many uncertainties. That’s when I decided to take the plunge.”
Since joining AIA Philippines in 2018, Agi is now a part of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) for the second consecutive year. MDRT is a global, independent association of the world’s leading life insurance and financial services professionals. Membership to this organization is recognized as the standard of excellence in the industry. To those who know Agi well, it shouldn’t come as a surprise. Having a solid entrepreneurial mindset and background was good to have, but the comprehensive training and development curriculum provided by AIA Philippines brought out the best in her.
AIA Philippines empowers mission-driven individuals like Agi to build a business while in pursuit of passion for helping others. It has paved the way for a young breed of Insurance Entrepreneurs to be more attuned to their clients’ evolving needs and wants, allowing them to become more productive using industry-leading sales tools & technology, and better armed with expert business knowledge and skills. “It’s where the best of the best come together, and challenge each other in the healthiest way. It’s where people learn together about financial literacy, and help each other understand it.”
Although Agi credits the strong support from the company for her success, it is also a good amount of hard work and determination that saw her through. “With this job, you become a well-rounded person. Being in this industry is a good equalizer. As long as you are willing to work hard you can succeed, regardless of your background. It has been a rollercoaster ride for me, but I was able to reach my goals, and I am more than determined to work even harder,” she adds.
Having financial freedom as a AIA Philippines Insurance Entrepreneur, Agi also has the capacity to fit her career around her passion, and dictate the terms for living her life to the fullest—something that so many people wish they could have. “Some days, I wake up at 3AM to wait for the bagsakan of the flowers as I run my passion project. On other days, I get up at normal hours to schedule financial advisory appointments with my clients. Now, I have more time to focus not just on myself, but also on people who matter most. I feel like this made me a more relational being, and that’s what this life is all about—living not just for yourself, but also for others.”
If Agi’s success has piqued your curiosity about this fulfilling career, she says go for it, give it a shot. “Take the plunge, but work hard. Here, your efforts are directly proportional to the outcome.”
Like Agi, you can make a difference in other people’s lives while building your business.
