As the world continues within the new normal, how can the youth use their groundbreaking ideas to become agents of change? AIA Philippines has long been the partner of Filipinos in helping them live better, providing health, wellness and protection solutions that support them in achieving healthier, longer, better lives. This year, the premier life insurance company in the country is again tapping the brilliance of the Gen Zs for ideas.
Now on its third year, AIA Life Hackers 2021 is a virtual hackfest which aims to drive the company’s relevance in young people’s lives and create meaningful connections with them. In turn, the youth are empowered to become agents of change. “The Gen Zs are brimming with fresh ideas and they just need a platform to showcase it,” says AIA Philippines Chief Executive Officer Kelvin Ang. “Through AIA Life Hackers 2021, we’re giving more young people the opportunity to come up with innovative, creative, and technology-driven strategies for more Filipinos to live better.”
Undergraduate college students aged 18 and above in groups of five can register to join through the AIA Life Hackers 2021 microsite. Each team may be composed of students from any course, as long as they are undergraduate students within the age limit. The deadline for applications is November 20, 2021.
Selected teams can then submit one or more proposals under three categories: Technology or Data Solution, Marketing Solution, or Product/Service solutions. A series of webinars on the life insurance industry spread out over a week will be conducted to help prepare the participants for their pitches. Each team will also be assigned a mentor and will have access to various resources and data to learn from and base their strategies on.
Participants will get to collaborate on their ideas from November 28 to December 2, with proposals for submission on the last day. Finalists will make their final pitch on December 10 with the winning teams to be awarded on the same day. Each winning team from every category will bring home PHP100,000 while the winning coaches will be awarded PHP20,000. On top of the cash prize, winners of AIA Life Hackers 2021 will also get an internship opportunity at AIA Philippines.
